An Inexpensive Parament Solution

Starting a mission parish can be a very expensive proposition. We often find that aquiring everything we need (want, desire, etc.), and one of those things is paraments - altar frontals, and pulpit and lecturn hangings. My solution was quite simple and inexpensive. I had purchased a set of four stoles from Autom (www.autom.com/) for $40 before I was ordained. I later bought chasubles that came with stoles, however, the Autom stoles did not go to waste. I cut them in two and use them as a frontal on the altar (see photo). This worked out so well, that I purchased other stoles on Ebay to use for my lectern (itself an inexpensive music stand). I have hangings for the altar and lectern for the four seasonal colors for less than $100.
